What would I need to do for this? (tags)

What sort of headaches would I encounter if I wanted to make your mod's tags system tie into VBgamer's tags module? or would it be easier vice versa, his module pick up yours?

The latter is what I did for his Downloads Pro mod, wasn't too difficult actually and he added to subsequent master copy.. with this one however I'll ask first...

Honestly, I have no idea. I have so little time at the moment to even work on the list of stuff that really needs doing before I can even think about this.

The reality is that under the hood it's not that difficult structurally to work with, but the two systems do do things differently and I don't have the time or resources to properly integrate like that.

Not a problem, I will put some time into it, like you, pretty busy too, but not so busy as you must be so will keep ya posted as to my research into it, still trying to figure out how hooks and some other things function so...

Great product and timing, it will do well...

Don't forget you can always ask how hooks work - LevGal does some very interesting things with hooks (including using hooks in places SMF doesn't *have* hooks, I just abuse other hooks to make my own)

For example I only actually register two hooks - one to load the bootstrap file and one to actually fire having done so, which then activates the other hooks. This makes my maintenance easier since I don't have to remember to add any hooks during the uninstaller for example.

Yea I like how you go about that, its confusing at first but will get it all straight in my head eventually...

I've only had one little problem with Levertine so far, whenever I install a mod through the package manager I have to disable the "defineNonAutoLoadable" function in the bootstrap file after the pretest or it causes the install process to choke...

Then turn it back on of course...

Have reverted back to playing with modules for a while, haven't updated 2.1 in quite a while, gonna wait for a bit to do that again too...

Why do you have to disable it? What problem happens that causes you to need to disable it?
